Hola y bienvenidos/welcome to our Peace Corps blog!
We are Angelica & Chris, partners in life and exploration. Following the pull of our dreams, we've decided to leave our creature comforts, jobs, friends, and families behind to seek a greater understanding of the world by way of Peace Corps service in Peru. For the next 27 months, we will be working on behalf of the Peace Corps and the American people to promote peace and understanding in our host communities as we serve in our capacities as Community Health and Youth Development volunteers. We are choosing to document this journey here to provide our folks back home with a greater context for our experiences and the path we're on.
There is no doubt that this will absolutely be a life changing experience for us. Although we have been together for nearly a decade, living and working abroad on a limited income will bring a whole new set of challenges that we will have to overcome. Despite the challenges, though, we are confident that we will find ourselves on the other side of this experience better people with a new perspective on what it means to be a citizen of this planet.
We hope you'll stay with us and read along as we make this journey from Peace Corps Trainees to Peace Corps Volunteers and finally to Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. Please bear with us while we learn more about the world of blogging and make updates to our site as internet access allows. Thank you for your support and love as we dedicate the next two years of our lives to making the world a better place. We carry you in our heart and thoughts.
